Earth Day 2017 - Thank You to Our Volunteers

The Emmaus and Upper Milford Township Joint Enivironmental Advisory Council's Earth Day Clean-Up event and celebration was held on Saturday, April 8, 2017.  There were an estimated 115 volunteers who picked up litter and trash in areas of Emmaus and Upper Milford. The weather was fantastic and the event was a huge success and continues to be a great tribute to community involvement and environmental awareness.

The total volume of trash collected was:

  • 58 (30 Gallon Bags) of Trash
  • 29 (30 Gallon Bags) of Recycling
  • 2 car Tires

In addition the Earth Day Event also featured an electronics recycling, a battery recycling, and a clothing recycling.  Blue Mountain Shredding also provided a truck, paid for in part by Representative Justin Simmons, Senator Patrick Browne, and Senator Lisa Boscola, which allowed residents to shred and recycle paper documents,

The event began with coffee and donuts and concluded with the opportunity to purchase pizzas from Fire-Up Artisan Oven food truck.

The Environmental Advisory Council is very proud of this annual event and thanks every one who participated and supported the event.
