Criminal Mischief:  reported on 9/12/16 in the 700 block of Harrison Street. Actor threw eggs at the victim’s vehicle causing $500 damage to the paint.

Hit & Run:  reported on 9/12/16 in the 1400 block of Shimerville Road.  Victim’s white Chevy Malibu was struck on the rear bumper damaging same.

Hit & Run:  reported on 9/7 at 3rd and Spruce Streets. A truck was observed knocking down a stop sign damaging same.  Est damage $150

Disorderly Conduct:  A female juvenile was arrested on 9/14/16 after being involved in a fight at the Emmaus High School.  A citation was filed at the Magistrate’s office.

Recklessly Endangering Another Person:  James Seidel, 44, of Emmaus, was arrested on 9/11/16 in the 200 block of Ridge Street for Recklessly Endangering Another Person after shooting a firearm in a residential area. He was processed at Lehigh County Booking Center.

 

 

Press Release – September 12, 2016

 

Hit & Run:  was reported on 9/9/16 when an unknown vehicle struck 2 parked cars in the 100 Block of N 3rd St damaging the driver’s side of both vehicles.

Simple Assault:  Ann Marie Wieder, 37 of Emmaus, was arrested on 9/9/16 for Simple Assault and Harassment after being involved in a domestic in the 200 block of Ridge St.  She was transported Lehigh County Central Booking were she was processed.

Driving Under the Influence:  Eric Krebs, 36 years old of Emmaus, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence after driving recklessly in the 600 block of Chestnut St.  He was processed at Lehigh County Central Booking.

Emmaus Police Officer Craig J. Blose receives a commendation for Achievement from Chief Chuck Palmer

 

Craig Blose became a police officer in July of 1998 and after 2 years of service became the Departments 3rd K-9 Officer, following in the footsteps of recently Retired Chief Dave Faust and Sgt Todd Garloff.

Craig has served for 16 years with K-9’s Basko, Ajax and now Zandor,  who worked his last patrol shift on May 29th.  During this time Craig has been awarded numerous citations and accolades, not only from the Emmaus Police Department , but from surrounding agencies. In checking his file I found 18 letters of commendations not only from Police Departments, but also from youth and civic organizations.  Craig has also received a Commendation from the State House of Representatives.

In 2005 Officer Blose and his partner at the time, Ajax , appeared on the cover of the very first national publication of Police K-9 Magazine.

Craig and Ajax tracked a suspect in a commercial burglary in South Whitehall which led to the suspect’s arrest.  The suspect in turn confessed to numerous burglaries in Lehigh and Carbon Counties.

Craig and his partners have removed pounds of marijuana and other illegal drugs from the streets of not only Emmaus, but other communities through the Lehigh Valley while providing mutual aid to other Police Departments.   

Officer Craig J. Blose is awarded this Commendation for Achievement for 16 years of dedicated and outstanding service to the community as the Emmaus Police Department K-9 Officer.  Thank you for your service.

Simple Assault:  Joseph Nero, 42 years old, of Allentown was arrested on 8/28/16 for Simple Assault and Harassment after being involved in a domestic dispute in the 00 block of S 2nd Street.

Theft from Vehicle:  reported on 8/3/16 from the 700 block of Broad Street.  A  registration plate was stolen from a vehicle.  Value $50

Theft from Vehicle:  reported on 8/30/16 in the 600 block of State Road.  Actor removed a registration plate from  a parked vehicle.  Value $36

Theft from Vehicle:  reported 9/11/16 in the 1000 block of Eagle Drive.  Actor removed 4 tires from a parked vehicle.  Value $800

Theft:  reported 9/2/16 in the 200 block of Powder Mill Lane.  Person removed a 46” TV, DOBO Tablet, an Air Purifier and some prescription drugs totaling $1,099.

Hit and Run:  reported 9/5/16 in the 500 block of Chestnut Street.  Unknown vehicle sideswiped a Chevy Cobalt causing damage to the rear bumper.

Theft:  reported on 9/5/16 in the 100 block of Elm Street.  Actor cut a 3’ chain and removed a “No Trespassing” sign – value $26

Found Item:  a boy’s BMX bicycle was found on 9/6 in the 100 block of Jefferson Street.

 

 

August 29, 2016

 

Burglary:  reported 8/22/16 in the 100 block of Seem Street.  Actor entered unlocked garage and remove a 311 James bicycle valued at $400.

ID Theft:  reported on 8/22/16. Unknown actor opened an account in victim’s name and purchased 2 items on an existing account owned by victim.

Simple Assault:  Tabitha Ortiz, 32, of Emmaus was arrested in the 100 block of Harrison Street on 8/23/16 after being involved in a domestic dispute.  She was charged with Simple Assault and Harassment.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/24/16 in the 00 block of N 4th Street.  Actor wrote obscene words on victim’s garage with marker.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/24/16 in the 800 block of Pine Street. Actor used a piece of metal to scratch the rear and driver side window on a Ford Escape causing $2,426 damage.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/25/16 in the 400 block of S 4th Street.  Actor used a sharp object and scratched a Subaru Forester causing $500 damage.

Found Item:  A Free Spirit bicycle was found in the 600 block of Chestnut St on 8/28/16

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/15/16 in the 300 block of Broad Street. Actor kicked a wooden fence causing $200 damage.

Theft from Vehicle:  reported on 8/16/16 in the 300 block of Broad Street. Actor entered victims vehicle and removed a backpack containing a wallet, credit cards and miscellaneous items.

Criminal Mischief: reported 8/16/16 in the 100 block of Main Street. Actor entered 3 unlocked vehicles & rummaged through the glove boxes.  Nothing was stolen.

Found Item:  a Chevrolet car key on a keyring was found on 8/16/16 and turned into police.

Burglary:  reported on 8/16/16 in the 600 block of Walnut Street. Actor entered home and removed a 48’ television valued at $400.

Theft from Vehicle:  reported on 8/17/16 in the 100 block of Main Street. Actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a pocket knife valued at $10.

Burglary:  reported on 8/19/16 in the 200 block of Powermill Lane.  Actor forced entry into an apartment and removed $800 cash.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/21/16 in the 300 block of S. 2nd Street. Actor scratched the driver’s side door of a silver Ford.  Estimated damage $200.

 

 

August 18th, 2016

   

        For the start of the new school year the Emmaus Police Department and the East Penn School District have partnered for the first time to place a School Resource Officer at the Emmaus High School. Officer Al Kloss, an 18 year veteran of the Emmaus police Department, will be assigned to EHS on a full-time basis.  A marked Police vehicle will be parked at EHS and will be the “new normal” .

     Chief of Police Chuck Palmer says “The Emmaus High School has a day time population that mirrors a small community and is deserving of its own full-time Police Officer. I would like to thank the members of the East Penn School Board and Superintendent Dr. Mike Schilder for their support of this endeavor.”

Defiant Trespass:  a 16 year old male was arrested on 7/5/16 for entering a school in which he was not enrolled as a student.  He was arrested for Defiant Trespass and Disorderly Conduct.

Theft:  reported on 8/8/16 in the 600 block of Broad Street.  Actor removed a clamp and assembly beam totaling $3,138

Theft from Vehicle:  reported on 8/11/16 in the 1400 block of Shimerville Road.  Actor smashed the window of a vehicle in the lot and removed a purse and wallet totaling $250.

Identity Theft:  reported on 8/13/16 in the 100 block of Elm Street.  Actor attempted to open a credit card account in victim’s name.

Theft from Vehicle:  reported on 8/14/16 in the 600 block of State Rd.  Actor smashed rear window of vehicle causing damage and removed a shift knob and stereo totaling $150.

 

 

August 8, 2016

 

Retail Theft:  a 15 year old female was arrested on 7/26/16 after shoplifting $3.99 worth of products  in the 700 block of Chestnut St.  Citation filed with Magistrate.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/3/16 in the 0 block of N 4th St.  Unknown actor siphoned gas from a lawn mower and replaced it with water causing $239 damage.

Disorderly Conduct:  Gerald Bocich, 58 years old, of Emmaus was arrested on 7/15/16 in the 0 block of 2nd Street.  Citation filed with Magistrate.

Driving Under the Influence:  Michael Aldinger, 44 years old, of Emmaus was arrested for DUI on 8/1/16, after he was observed speeding in the 0 block of N 6th Street.  He was processed at the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 8/3/16 in the 0 block of N 4th Street.  Actor put dirt in the hydraulic drive of a lawn mower causing $1,000 damage.

Simple Assault:  Christopher Poniktera, 39 years old, of Emmaus was arrested on 8/4/16 in the 300 block of S 16th Street for Simple Assault and Harassment after being involved in a domestic dispute.  He was processed at the Lehigh County Booking Center.

Burglary:  reported on 7/28/16 at Top Star Exxon on Main Street. Actor smashed the glass on front door and entered the store.

Simple Assault:  Kenneth Echevarria-Rodriguez and Lina Shahoud, both of Emmaus were arrested on 7/25/16 for Simple Assault and Harassment after being involved in an domestic dispute in the 300 block of Minor Street.  They were processed and released at Lehigh County Booking Center.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 7/25/16 in the 0 block of S 2nd Street.  Actor smashed a patio chair to rear of property.  Estimated Damage $400.00

Hit and Run:  reported on 7/29/16 in the 600 block of Broad Street.  Unknown vehicle struck the rear passenger side of a Ford Fusion while parked in a private lot.

Found Bicycle:  a boy’s maroon bicycle was found on 7/30/16 on Williams Street.  Bicycle stored at Police Department.

Public Drunkenness:  David Hackl, 58, of Emmaus was arrested on 7/20/16 in the 200 block of North 2nd Street.

Defiant Trespass:  Zacharie Grim, 26, of Emmaus was arrested on 7/20/16 in the 500 block of Evergreen Street for Defiant Trespass after returning to a location he had been previously advised not to return to.

Found Item:  A black and white backpack was found in the 300 block of Spruce St on 7/22/16.

Harassment:  Jeremy Steigerwalt, 30, of Emmaus was arrested for Harassment on 7/25/16 in the 100 block of East Minor St.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 7/25/16 in the 1000 block of Macungie Avenue. Damage was done to the tailgate of a 2006 Subaru parked in the area.  Estimated damage $500

Harassment:  Gema Carter, 44 years old of Emmaus was charged with Harassment after she contacted victim multiple times through e-mail which served no legitimate purpose. Citation filed with Magistrate.

Credit Card Fraud:  Douglas Houser, 47 years old, unknown address, was charged with Credit Card Fraud on 5/21/16 after using a credit card without the victims knowledge.

Disorderly Conduct:  Omar Menzel, 21 years old of Allentown was charged with Disorderly Conduct after he was involved in a altercation on 6/3/16 in the 700 block of North Street.

Theft:  reported on 7/12/16 in the 500 block of North 6th Street.  Actor tore down and removed a Moravian Star Light valued at $35 from front porch.

Hit & Run:  reported on 7/13/16 in the 200 block of Adrain Street.  Witness states a dark colored Honda backed up striking a parked Ford Explorer damaging rear door and front fender. Offending vehicle left the scene.

Burglary:  reported on 7/13/16 in the 400 block of Wenner Street.  Actor entered home and removed cash and a shotgun totaling $3,000.00

Theft from Vehicle:  reported 7/14/16 in the 1100 block of Eagle Dr. Actor removed the registration plate from a motorcycle which was parked in the lot.  Value $30.00

Driving Under the Influence:  Emma Hoffman, 20 years old of Alburtis with DUI-Minor after she was stopped in the 600 block of State Road.  She was processed at the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Indirect Criminal Contempt:  Anthony Morgan, 26 of Allentown was charged with Indirect Criminal Contempt after violating a Protection from Abuse Order.

Escape:  Justin Brobst, 25 years old of Emmaus with Escape, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct and Driving with a Suspended License on 7/2/16 in the 200 block of N. 5th Street.  Officer stopped Brobst for driving under suspension.  Brobst went into his home and ran out the back door. A description was given and a pursuit ensured involving multiple agencies.  Brobst was taken into custody and processed at the Lehigh County Booking Center.

Driving Under the Influence:  Abraham Hagan, 50 of Emmaus was charged with Driving Under the Influence after he was stopped on 7/3/16 for careless driving in the 700 block of Chestnut Street. He was processed and released at the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 7/17/16 in the 00 block of S 5th Street. Actor spray painted a dumpster in the rear driveway causing $50 damage.

Theft:  reported on 7/17/16 at the intersection of Green Street and Keystone Avenue.  Actor removed a stop sign and pole from location.  Estimated cost $100.

Criminal Mischief:  reported 7/18 in the 1200 block of S 10th Street.  A witness heard an explosion, then saw a diesel truck with a juvenile male in the bed drive away southbound on 10th Street.  Witness then found a neighbor’s mailbox was destroyed.  Value $50

Identity Theft:  reported on 7/16 in the 00 block of North 2nd Street.  Unknown actor opened a credit card account using victim’s information purchasing a $550 gift card.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 7/17/16 in the 00 block of S 5th Street.  Actor spray painted graffiti on victim’s shed.  Estimated damage $50.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 7/17/16 in the 500 block of Broad Street. Actor spray painted dumpster and bathroom stall door causing $100 damage.

Criminal Mischief:  reported 7/5/16 in the 00 block of S 2nd Street. Actor broke rear window and dented rear bumper of a 2013 VW Beetle.  Estimated damage is $1,000.00

Criminal Mischief:  reported 7/5/16 in the 600 block of Broad Street. Actor punctured both rear and front passenger side tires of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra.  Estimated damage $300.00

Found Bicycle:  found 7/6/16 in the 100 block of S 12th Street. Child’s bicycle with training wheels.

Criminal Mischief:  reported 7/6/16 in the 300 block of Adrain Street.  Actors kicked in the bottom panel on the front storm door at location. 

Criminal Mischief:  reported 7/7/16 in the parking lot of the 1300 block of Chestnut Street.  Actor knocked over a street lamp on a concrete base.  Estimated damage $10,000.00

Hit & Run:  reported 7/9/16 in the 200 block of Powder Mill Lane. Offending vehicle struck a white Ford Edge causing passenger side damage.

Theft from Vehicle:  reported 7/10/16 in the 0 block of N 9th Street. Actor entered vehicle removing a handgun and an army knife.  Total value $400.00

Theft from Vehicle:  reported 7/10/16 in the 600 block of Furnace Street. Unknown actor entered 2 unlocked vehicles removing both registration cards.  Total value $70.00

Theft from Vehicle:  reported 7/11/16 from the 900 block of Broad Street. Actor entered unlocked vehicle and removed an Apple IPAD valued at $200.00

Burglary:  reported 7/11/16 in the 600 block of Chestnut Street. Actor entered home and removed cash and jewelry totaling $140.00

Driving Under the Influence:  Peter Balodis, 46 years old of Emmaus was charged with DUI after he was stopped in the 600 Block of Chestnut Street on 6/27 for reckless driving.  He was processed and released from the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Hit and Run: reported on 6/28/16 in the parking lot of 675 State Rd.  Unknown actor struck the left front bumper of a vehicle, damaging same.

Theft: reported on 6/24/16 in the 500 Block of Macungie Avenue.  Actor entered unlocked shed and removed a black Schwinn bicycle valued at $75.

Identity Theft:  reported on 6/30/16 by a business owner in the 100 Block of Main St.  Actor opened an account in the business’s name totally $4,000 in charges.

Simple Assault:  Santos Rivera, 19 years old of Allentown was arrested on 7/2/16 for Simple Assault and Harassment.  He was processed at Lehigh County Booking Center.

Theft:  reported at Emmaus Community Park, 1401 Shimerville Road on 7/3/16.  Actor removed a black and silver Mad Gear Scooter from locker room.  Scooter valued at $79
