PRESS RELEASE 11/28/16

 

Hit & Run:  reported on 11/20/16 in the 500 blk of Furnace Street.  Unknown vehicle struck victim’s blue Honda Civic damaging the driver’s side mirror and rear panel. Estimated damage $2,000.

Theft:  reported on 11/20/16 in the 500 blk of North Street.  Actor entered a trailer parked on victim’s property and removed an aluminum jack and a Honda generator totaling $1,750.

Theft from a Motor Vehicle:  reported on 11/21/16 in the 400 blk of E Harrison Street.  Actor entered victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed $8 cash

PRESS RELEASE 11/21/16

Theft:  Vincent Savage, 18 of Allentown was arrested on 11/10/16 in the 900 blk of Glenwood Street for Theft, Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal conspiracy.  Savage entered and stole items from parked car.  Savage was transported to Lehigh Booking Center and processed.

Hit and Run:  reported on 11/112/16 in the 300 blk of Broad Street. Offending vehicle scraped the right rear bumper of a white Chevy Malibu and left the scene.

Possession of Controlled Substance:  Christopher Hittinger, 27 of Emmaus was arrested for possession of controlled substance on 11/11/16 in the 1200 blk of W Jubilee Street.  Hittinger was transported to Lehigh County Booking Center, processed and released.

Hit and Run:  reported on 11/12/16 in the 200 blk of Adrain Street.  Unknown vehicle hit victim’s tan Chrysler PT Cruiser damaging the driver’s side door.

Theft:  reported on 11/14/16 at the Emmaus High School.  Actor entered locker room and removed a change purse and cash from a book bag totaling $34.90.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 11/15/16 in the 600 blk of North Street.  Actor vandalized victim’s green Chevy Malibu while parked in the lot.

Theft:  reported on 11/16/16 in the 0 blk of N 6th Street.  Actor removed a Jamis motorized mountain bike and lock from rear of property valued at $800.

Driving Under the Influence:  Aliaksandr Shabon, 54 of Emmaus was arrested on 11/16/16 for DUI and careless driving in the 1200 blk of Chestnut Street after being involved in an accident.  Shabon was transported to Lehigh County DUI Center.

  Theft:  reported on 11/1/16 from the 100 blk of Pine St.  Actor removed a TREK Mountain bike from yard.  Est value $100

     

 Theft:  reported on 11/2/16 in the 900 blk of Glenwood St.  Actor removed a Red & Silver Trek bicycle from yard.  Est value $750

 

Harassment: 11/3/16: A 16 year old male Emmaus High School student was cited for harassment after striking another student with his fist.

 

Theft from Motor Vehicle:  reported on 11/5/16 in the 1400 blk of Shimerville Rd. Actor entered unlocked vehicle and removed prescription meds, cash and keys totaling $160

 

Theft from MV:  reported on 11/8/16 in the 900 blk of Chestnut St.  Actor entered unlocked vehicle and removed a radio/CD player valued at $160

 

Criminal MIschief:  reported on 11/9/16 in the 400 blk of Chestnut St.  Unknown actor slashed the tire on victim's blue Chevy.  Est damage $100

 

Harassment:  Linda Blose, 61 of Allentown, was arrested on 11/9/16 in the 100 blk of Green St for Harassment and Defiant Trespassing after being involved in a disturbance. Citations were filed at Magistrate's Office.

 

False ID to Law Enforcement:  Vaugh Robinson, 33 of Emmaus was arrested on 10/8/16 in the 500 block of Broad St for False ID to Law Enforcement and Disorderly Conduct after police responded to his home multiple times for noise complaints after which Robinson provided false ID to officers. 

 

Disorderly Conduct: ( 2 )17 year old males were arrested on 10/12/17 for Disorderly Conduct in the 1300 blk of Arch St after being involved in a suspicious person complaint involving  drug paraphernalia. Juveniles were transported home and citations were filed.

 

Burglary:  reported on 10/16/16 in the 600 blk of Macungie Ave. Actor broke the window lock on the back porch and entered the home.  Actor stole a large amount of jewelry.

 

Theft from Motor Vehicle:  reported on 10/24/16 in the 300 blk of Broad St.  Actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed 2 pairs of earbuds valued at $80.

10/24/2016: Numerous unlocked vehicles were entered and rummaged through in the 100 block of S 12th St and the 000 block of S 5th St.

10/27/16: Cited for Public Drunkenness: Mark M. Charles, 40, of Emmaus, in the 900 block of Eagle Drive.

10/28/16: A resident of the 1000 block of N 7th St reported an Identity Theft after someone opened a credit card account in their name.     

10/28/16:  Arrested for DUI: Ray A. Perez, 24, of Allentown after being stopped in the 300 block of Green St.

 

OCTOBER 24, 2016

Theft:  reported on 10/14/16 in the 0 block of Greenleaf Street.  A MacBook Laptop was reported stolen from location. Estimated value $1,550.

Theft:  reported on 10/14 in the 700 block of Chestnut Street.  A cellphone valued was $90 was stolen.

Burglary:  reported on 10/16/16 in the 900 block of Macungie Avenue.  Unknown actor entered the unlocked home and removed victim’s jewelry.

Forgery:  Ricardo Rios, 38, of Reading and Terry Farmer, 47, of Trenton NJ were arrested on 10/13/16 in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street for Forgery and Bad Checks after attempting to cash 2 forged checks totaling $4,881.67.  Both were transported to Lehigh County Booking Center and processed.

Theft from Motor Vehicle:  reported on 10/19/16 in the 0 block of Keystone Avenue.  Actor entered unlocked vehicle and stole $2 in change.

Credit Card Theft:  reported on 10/19/16.  Actor used victim’s credit card to make $130.76 in purchases.

Theft from Motor Vehicle:  reported on 10/19/16 in the 200 block of N. 2nd Street.  Actor entered vehicle and removed $3 in cash.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 10/20/16 in the 100 block of Pine Street.  The rear window of a Blue Chevy was shattered by a bb.  Estimated damage $300

Driving Under the Influence:   Jessica Miles, 22, of Allentown was arrested on 10/2/16 for DUI, a stop sign, speeding and careless driving violations in the 400 block of Chestnut Street after she was seen speeding in the area.  She was processed at the Lehigh County DUI Center.

Driving Under the Influence:  Sara Matteson, 27, of Emmaus was arrested for DUI in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania after being involved in an accident.  She was transported to Lehigh

County DUI center and processed.

Criminal Mischief:: reported on 10/22/16 in the 100 block of E Main Street.  The rear windows of 2 vehicles were smashed out.  Estimated damage $300.

Criminal Mischief:  reported on 10/22/16 in the 400 block of E. Main Street.  Rear window on a parked vehicle was smashed out. Estimated damage $800

OCTOBER 17, 2016

Hit & Run:  reported on 9/23/16 in the 500 block of Chestnut St.  Unknown vehicle struck the rear passenger side of a tan Ford Freestar damaging same.

Fraud:  reported on 9/26/16.  Actor used victim’s credit card in an attempt to make 2 on-line purchases totaling $2,800.

Simple Assault:  William Walker, 26, of Emmaus was arrested on 9/30/16 for Simple Assault, Harassment and Criminal Mischief after an altercation in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street which caused bodily damage to a victim and $600 damage to victim’s vehicle.  He was processed at Lehigh County Booking Center.

Fraud:  reported on 9/30/16 in the 900 block of Buttonwood Street.  Actor attempted to use victim’s credit card twice to make $692.71 worth of purchases.

Found Bicycle:  A BMX bicycle was found in the 200 block of Seem Street on 10/3/16.  Bicycle is being held at the Emmaus Police headquarters.

Simple Assault:  Antonio Fiores, 29, of Emmaus was arrested on 10/4/16 in the 400 block of Chestnut Street for Simple Assault and Harassment following a domestic dispute.  He was processed at Lehigh County Booking Center.

Use of Tobacco in Schools:  A 16 and a 17 year old male were arrested on 9/27/16 for possession of cigarettes on school property.  Citations were filed at Magistrate’s Office.

Driving Under the Influence:  Dylan Kehs, 22, of Macungie was arrested on 9/27/16 in the 700 block of Chestnut Street for DUI after being observed crossing the double lines.  He was processed at Lehigh County Central Booking Center.

Theft:  reported on 10/4/16 at 500 Macungie Avenue.  Actor removed $500 cash from victim’s purse.

Theft from Motor Vehicle:  reported on 10/7/16 in the 500 block of Seem St.  Actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed an Apple Cell Phone valued at $150.

      After a long and arduous process that began in February and included a written examination, physical agility testing, oral interview, background investigation to include a polygraph examination and finally a second interview in front of the Public Safety Committee of Borough Council, the Mayor and the Chief of Police the Emmaus Police Department is proud to announce the hiring of the following individuals: 

     Badge #80:  Carlos Marrero, 34 years old, Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Lives in Allentown with his wife and 3 children.  Served in the US Army 2008-2015. Currently serves with the US Army Reserves. Attended the Allentown Police Academy.   “I am really excited to start work at the Emmaus Police Department, it is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to be a part of the community. I will do my best to uphold the respect the people of Emmaus have for the Police Department and hope to be a great help to the Police Department and the Community.”

 

     Badge # 81:  Don Magee, 38 years old, Born in Gary, Indiana. Lives in Fountain Hill with his girlfriend and his 2 sons.  Has been serving with the US Army Reserves since 2007. Attended the Allentown Police Academy.  “I am excited to be a part of the Emmaus Police Department. I plan on bringing my “A” game to work with me everyday while serving the community.”

 

     Badge #82: Melanie Sayres, 22 years old, Born and raised in Reading, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.  Attended the Reading Police Academy. “I am excited and thankful to achieve my dream of working as a Police Officer, especially here in Emmaus. I look forward to serving the community professionally and also getting to know everyone personally in this wonderful place I now call home.”  

 

  Badge # 83: Kevin Miller, 26 years old, from Easton, earned a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from East Stroudsburg University. Attended the Allentown Police Academy. “I am looking forward to becoming a Police Officer in Emmaus and serving your beautiful community.
