The Emmaus Police Department serves the historic community of Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Emmaus was formed in 1759 as a closed Moravian village on land owned by the church.  In 1859 it was incorporated as a Pennsylvania borough. During the late 1800’s the Borough of Emmaus provided protection for the community by appointing “High Constables.”  The Emmaus Police Department was established in 1909 when Wilson Kratzer was appointed as the first Police Chief. Since then the Emmaus Police Department has grown to be a Pennsylvania Accredited Law Enforcement Agency.

Currently, the department has a staff of 19 full time officers, 2 part time officers, 1 animal control officer, and 2 clerical staff.  The department offers 24 hour professional service and coverage 365 days a year. The department operates out of a state of the art building located at 400 Jubilee St. in the Borough of Emmaus.
